About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-driven Logistics Operative to join our Despatch team. Reporting to the Logistics Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring all finished goods are accurately picked, packed, processed and dispatched in line with customer requirements, internal procedures, and industry standards. This role is key to maintaining a smooth and efficient outbound logistics operation, ensuring documentation accuracy, timely collections, and adherence to safety and quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate despatch documentation including packing slips, customs invoices, Certificates of Conformity and Authorised Release Certificates (Form 1s).
- Ensure all documentation meets internal requirements and relevant aerospace standards.
- Provide import/export clearance instructions and liaise effectively with freight forwarders and other stakeholders.
- Carry out daily despatch activities and material movements in accordance with Work Instructions.
- Record all logistics transactions using the ERP system / electronic data capture tools.
- Conduct cycle counts and maintain accurate stock records across logistics locations.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, company policies and procedures.
- Identify, record and quarantine any non-conforming or expired product.
Qualifications
- Experience in a logistics or warehouse environment, with strong understanding of stock, inventory, picking, packing and despatch processes.
- Proficiency in MRP/ERP stock control activities (receipts, moves, issues, despatch).
- Experience working with freight forwarders and customs clearance processes.
- High level of numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail.
- Understanding of manual handling, safe goods movement and general H&S systems.
- Experience within aerospace or defence sectors.
- Authorisation to release Certificates of Conformity and controlled documentation (EASA/FAA/CAA).
- Knowledge of export licensing controls and ITAR.
- Awareness of AS/ISO quality systems.
- Experience with Excel-based order books or work-to lists.
- Cycle counting / perpetual inventory experience.
- Forklift licence.
