Job description

Our client, an Aerospace and Defence supplier is looking for a Logistics Operative to join them on a contract basis at their site in Basildon.

  • Due the nature of the role, applicants must hold the sole British nationality and be willing to undergo security checks.
  • Contract until 27th March 2026.
  • 14.75 p/h PAYE or 20.18 p/h Umbrella, inside IR35.
  • Must hold a Clean UK driving licence.
Job role

To work within the Logistics Team performing set daily tasks to support the transition of material through the hub to meet business requirements and service level agreements.

Carry out a range of tasks including Goods Receipt, Picking, Stock relocation, Repair receipt, packing, Perpetual inventory checks, transport etc

Skills, qualifications & knowledge
  • Essential - Logistics, retail, Warehouse, stock management experience
  • Essential - Used SAP or similar business system for logistics transactions
  • Essential - Clean UK driving licence
  • Desirable - Certificated to use a fork‑lift & Reach truck
  • Desirable - Certificated to use a Pallet Stacker truck and MEWP
Key areas of responsibility
  • Accurately perform the picking and put away of inventory.
  • Control and process incoming goods receipts
  • Perpetual inventory checks.
  • Packing of deliverable items
  • Customer repair receipt and processing
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and batch traceability

  • Neat and tidy work ethic in line with 5s principles
  • Manually dexterous.
  • To complete set tasks accurately and precisely
  • Must be prepared to work as part of small, closely knit team who can work unsupervised at times to complete set tasks.
  • Must be a UK National who is willing to undertake security vetting to SC level and willing to sign the OSA.
  • Physically fit and agile in line with the "Logistics activity safety review" and "Working at height medical" to safely carry out a very active role.
