Role

Logistics Manager

About the role: Reporting to the 3PL Contract Manager, the Logistics Manager will work collaboratively with all areas of the UK Operations Team and external 3PLs to support the delivery of an outstanding level of service at the optimum cost.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the 3PL Contract Manager and Inbound, Planning and Order management functions to monitor storage utilisation across warehouses to ensure good product placement for outbound deliveries.
  • Deliver strategic and transformational projects in a fast-moving and highly demanding environment.
  • Collaborate with the UK and NA Inventory teams to support improvements in inventory management including damages and rebox activities.
  • Coordinate with the NPD Rework coordinator to review CSR’s and SOPs to support process and service improvements.
  • Support the production and review of KPIs across all areas, including distribution and finance.
  • Use project management methodology (PRINCE2 or equivalent) to deliver initiatives and projects on time.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders and collaborate with other functional areas to drive transformational change and embed new ways of working (processes, governance, culture).
  • Manage logistics projects related to opening new warehouses, service provider selection, tender and benchmarking exercises, IT implementations, cost reduction initiatives.
  • Understand business requirements and deliver logistics solutions in a cost-effective and high-quality manner.
  • Be the key point of contact for all logistics issues related to new projects and initiatives, escalating to the 3PL contract manager when required.
  • Transform the project from initiative to BAU handing over to the 3PL contract manager.
  • Work collaboratively with third-party logistics partners to ensure great service levels and best cost, especially during implementation and go-live phase.
  • Define the critical path and key milestones to ensure initiatives and projects are delivered on time; provide clear communication to all stakeholders on progress.
  • Identify risks and provide mitigation plans to avoid them.
  • Analyse data and evaluate performance metrics to ensure quality delivery and cost-efficient workflow processes and identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Preparing tenders, tender processes, negotiation and data analysis.
  • Identifying cost saving initiatives; contract management.
  • Experience managing 3PLs or working within warehouse operations, parcel carrier and transport knowledge.
  • Strong project management (PRINCE2 or equivalent) and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven track record of leading teams in a logistical environment, in a fast-paced culture of continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of B2B and D2C logistics marketplace is desirable.
  • Knowledge of warehouse and transport operations.
  • Commitment to learning and expanding professional and technical knowledge.
  • Numerate with analytical and quantitative skills; able to use data to back up assumptions and develop business cases.
  • Ability to clearly communicate data insights; hands-on and flexible with workload.
  • Ability to understand the product, our business, and the competitive landscape; agile, enthusiastic, and curious.
