Logistics Manager Aerospace Manufacturing

Location: Sunbury-on-Thames, Surrey

Salary: GBP47,000 GBP52,000 (dependent on experience)

A leading manufacturer in the aerospace and defence sector is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to oversee all aspects of materials flow, warehousing, and dispatch. This is a hands‑on leadership position responsible for ensuring full traceability, export compliance, and on‑time delivery across a complex, high‑integrity supply chain.

As Logistics Manager, you ll lead a team of 9 Material Controllers and manage daily operations across Goods In, Stores, and Dispatch. Working closely with production, purchasing, and quality teams, you ll drive continuous improvement in material handling and ensure adherence to aerospace quality standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop a logistics team responsible for material movement, kitting, and dispatch
  • Oversee all Goods In, Stores, and Dispatch operations to meet production schedules
  • Manage relationships with couriers and freight agents for UK and international shipments
  • Ensure compliance with export control, customs, and aerospace traceability requirements
  • Monitor logistics KPIs, including stock accuracy, dispatch timeliness, and shortage reduction
  • Drive efficiency, process improvement, and adherence to the Business Management System (BMS)
  • Support E&O reduction and stock accuracy initiatives
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in logistics management within aerospace, defence, or precision manufacturing
  • Leadership experience managing warehouse or materials teams
  • Understanding of export control, customs documentation, and courier coordination
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
  • Excellent organisational and problem‑solving ability
