STS Aviation Services is rapidly expanding, and we’re looking for a Logistics Operative to join our growing team at Birmingham Airport. As the UK’s leading independent MRO, we’re committed to excellence in aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul — and our logistics operation is at the heart of it all.

About The Role

The Logistics Operative will manage the control, storage, and movement of aircraft parts, tooling, and consumables within the hangar environment. Working closely with engineering and production teams, you’ll ensure all materials are available on time and in full compliance with aviation standards.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Receive, inspect, and process incoming aircraft parts, materials, and consumables in accordance with company procedures and aviation standards
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using company stock management systems
  • Issue parts and tooling to engineers, ensuring all transactions are logged correctly
  • Support the return and disposal of unserviceable parts in line with regulatory requirements
  • Assist in managing stock levels, performing audits and cycle counts as required
  • Ensure goods are stored safely and securely, following health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Coordinate with procurement and production teams to support operational needs and minimise delays
  • Operate material handling equipment and vehicles safely and efficiently
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics and supply chain function
Skills & Experience
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a logistics, stores, or warehouse role (aviation experience preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of stock control, inventory management, and logistics operations
  • Familiarity with aviation safety and compliance standards (EASA/CAA Part-145 desirable)
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong attention to detail with accurate data entry and record-keeping abilities
  • Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and stock management systems
Work Schedule
  • Monday to Friday (early, late, or core hours shift pattern)
  • Current logistics coverage: 07:00 – 18:00 (subject to operational change)
