We're hiring! Our current Logistics Co‑ordinator will be heading off on maternity leave early next year, and we couldn't be happier for her!

While she's enjoying time with her new arrival, we're looking for someone equally brilliant to step in and help keep things running smoothly.

The role? Logistics Coordinator , starting around February 2026 for approximately 12 months on a Fixed Term Contract .

Job Summary:

Managing driver rotas and keeping things running like clockwork.

Ensuring that samples are collected from customers and delivered to the relevant laboratory with the agreed times frames.

Supporting our labs and customers with any collection queries or investigations.

Coordinating sub-contractors and ensuring smooth coverage across the board.

Updating and maintaining our CRM system - you'll be our go-to for keeping it in top shape.

Working with the Logistics Manager on continuous improvement projects.

Sending out important updates and communications to customers and drivers.

Helping with driver licence checks - keeping everyone legal and safe.

Arranging hire cars for our courier team and the wider business.

Keeping our insurance records up to date for all vehicles.

Using People HR to record holidays and sickness.

Reviewing fuel reports.

Plus any other task required by the Logistics Manager to ensure a the smooth running of the division.

Knoweledge, Skills and Attributes :
  • Be IT literate, and have experience of using Word, Teams and have a good understanding of Excel, being able to interpret data through formulas, lookups, pivot tables.
  • Be confident on the telephone - building relationships with our customers builds trust. Have empathy as we're collecting pathology samples for sick pets.
  • Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner at all times.
  • Be confident managing drivers and contractors on a day to day basis, the high level parts are managed by our Logistics Manager.
  • Have a basic understanding of how to operate a logistics division legally and safely.
  • Ability to share and exchange information with others.
  • Ability to show initiative and to work independently, without supervision.
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Team player with a can‑do attitude.
Hours of Work :
  • Hours : 9am - 6pm, Monday to Friday (with an hour for lunch).
  • Occasionally, you may need to lend a hand covering out-of-hours in my absence.
  • Salary range : £26,000.00 - £29,000.00
  • Contract : 12-month fixed term / secondment.
  • Location : Primarily from home - though we'll want you to spend at least 2 days per month at one of our labs (Exeter, Bristol, Leeds, or Hitchin). It's a great way to get to know the business, work alongside our Logistics manager and feel part of the team.

All the tools you need, a laptop and mobile phone will be provided.
