Job summary

Netbox Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Logistics / Despatch Coordinator in Sidcup to own the UK domestic despatch operation within a small team.

You will plan daily outbound consignments, book couriers, manage carriers, and coordinate with Production and Warehouse to ensure timely dispatch while seeking efficiencies. The role offers weekday hours, free parking, and progression opportunities in a growing manufacturing business.

Netbox Recruitment are working with a successful, established and forward-thinking manufacturing business that is investing in change and building a new team.

We're looking for a Logistics / Despatch Coordinator who is proactive, hands-on and enjoys improving the way things are done.

As part of a small team of three and a wider team of 9, you'll take ownership of the UK domestic despatch operation, working closely with Production and Warehouse to ensure orders are planned, booked and dispatched accurately and on time.

What you'll be doing as a Logistics & Despatch Coordinator

• Planning and scheduling daily UK outbound consignments - from individual boxes to pallets and artic loads.
• Booking and managing couriers, hauliers, pallet networks and 3PL providers.
• Selecting the right carrier based on service, capacity, requirements and cost.
• Working closely with Production and Warehouse to manage lead times and despatch priorities.
• Checking orders manually for accuracy, quantities, addresses and special requirements.
• Managing collections, tracking deliveries and resolving transport issues and exceptions.
• Maintaining despatch, booking and POD records.
• Building strong relationships with carriers, drivers and internal teams.
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes, streamline administration and reduce freight costs.

About you

We're looking for a Doer - someone who takes initiative, enjoys solving problems and doesn't wait to be told what needs doing.

You’ll ideally have experience in logistics, transport, despatch or supply chain, an understanding of UK freight and carrier networks beneficial, not essential.

Ideally you will have a experience of driving a Counter balance Forklift or be happy to learn. This is to help out moving orders if and needed to support the team

You’ll need excellent organisation and attention to detail, strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy manufacturing environment.

Experience with ERP/WMS/TMS or transport booking systems would be advantageous.
