Job description
Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out all shipping, packing, and receiving duties in accordance with established procedures
  • Transport materials, including hazardous items, around the facility using appropriate equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.)
  • Maintain accurate shipping inventory and ensure materials are well stocked (e.g. boxes, tape, bubble wrap)
  • Verify physical counts against documentation to ensure shipping accuracy
  • Assist with developing packing specifications alongside manufacturing and engineering teams
  • Generate and maintain essential shipping documentation such as packing slips, Bills of Lading, invoices, and export declarations
  • Coordinate with sales, planning, and logistics teams to ensure efficient and cost-effective routing
  • Unload and inspect goods for damage, correct labelling, and overall compliance
  • Provide training and cross-training to team members as required
  • Ensure compliance with trade regulations and export control procedures
About You

Essential:

  • Experience in a shipping, warehouse, or logistics environment
  • Strong working knowledge of export documentation and compliance procedures
  • Good computer literacy and confidence using carrier systems and databases
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 7/B or above in Maths and English
  • Physically fit and comfortable working in a hands‑on operational role
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise in a fast‑paced environment

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Familiarity with international freight or working with freight forwarders
  • Forklift licence (not essential, training may be provided)
