Job description

A growing global distributor servicing the retail industry with an unyielding dedication to excellence and exceptional customer service, is looking for a Logistics Coordinator to manage the international movement of goods and ensuring compliance with all relevant customs regulations. Along with a salary of up to GBP36,000 per annum, you will also receive:

What you'll be doing as Logistics Coordinator:

You will oversee logistics, documentation, customs clearance, tariff classifications, and freight cost optimisation to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products from suppliers worldwide.

Key responsibilities:
  • Coordinate all import and export operations, including shipment scheduling, booking transportation, and tracking deliveries from origin to destination.
  • Prepare, review, and manage all required shipping and customs documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin etc.).
  • Classify products according to international tariff codes (HS Codes) and ensure accurate duty and tax calculation.
  • Liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers, suppliers, and internal departments to resolve delays, discrepancies, or compliance issues.
  • Monitor and analyse delivery costs, duties, and freight charges to identify savings opportunities and negotiate favourable shipping rates.
  • Ensure full compliance with international trade regulations, customs laws, sanctions, and import/export licensing requirements.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records and generate regular reports on logistics performance, landed costs, and customs-related expenses.
  • Stay updated on global trade policies, tariff changes, and customs procedures across key markets.
  • Support supply chain planning by forecasting lead times and identifying potential logistics risks.
We're looking for a Logistics Coordinator with:
  • Proven experience in import/export coordination, international logistics, or freight forwarding.
  • Strong knowledge of customs procedures, Incoterms, HS tariff classification, and international trade compliance.
  • Familiarity with freight cost analysis and delivery logistics (air, sea, and road transport).
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities when dealing with external partners.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and logistics/trade management software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in International Trade, Customs Compliance, or Logistics (e.g., ATA, CILT, FIATA) is an advantage.
  • Experience working within manufacturing, retail, or distribution sectors.
  • Knowledge of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and duty relief schemes.
