Job description

Morson Talent are currently recruiting for a Logistics Controller to work on the behalf of one of our prestigious clients based in Edinburgh. This is a contract role for 5 months, with possibility of extension.

Primary tasks may include:
  • Ensure store compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Pack, stock, organize and rearrange products in warehouse, in a neat and clean manner.
  • Organize and maintain records of inventories up to date.
  • Monitor and manage inventory control.
  • Manage and handle shipping, loading and unloading of products.
  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Handle delicate and sensitive products with utmost care.
  • Drive vans, trucks, passenger cars handling warehouse/logistics materials.
  • Handle and operate necessary tools and accessories in maintaining and managing a warehouse.
  • Integrate best practices in handling warehouse materials.
  • Manage inventory as well as warehouse, transportation, and other logistics processes.
  • Process received deliveries and distribution to factory efficiently.
  • Process production orders, and all other material/component requests to factory.
  • Administer stock control.
  • Develop new strategies to streamline processes and reduce cost.
  • Ensure that quality, quantity, customer satisfaction, and financial commitments are met.
  • Perform metrics reporting and data analysis tasks to identify issues and opportunities for process improvements.
  • Partner and communicate with manufacturers, suppliers, and customers.
  • Manage and develop logistics team.
Personal Qualities & Skills
  • Previous Skills working within an similar stores/logistics environment.
  • Firm grasp of supply chain, inventory and distribution.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proven competence in a similar role.
  • Work as part of a team.
  • Good time keeping.
  • Must be flexible.
  • Show Initiative.
  • Previous SAP knowledge an advantage.
Qualifications
  • Confident using Windows based PC programmes.

Day shift - 08:20-17:05 (Mon-Thu) & 08:20-13:25 (Fri) plus 1hr flexibility each day on this.
