A global logistics company in Ellesmere Port is seeking a Logistics Controller for a one-year fixed term contract. Logistics Controller - One Year Fixed Term Contract

Up to £40K + excellent benefits package

Fantastic opportunity to join a global business as a Logistics Controller. This is a one year FTC starting ASAP!

Working as part of a professional and friendly logistics team you will ensure the safe and legal movement of products nationally and internationally.

  • Ensure the smooth movement of goods to customer, goods to site and warehouses in a timely manner.
  • Liaising with colleagues in customer service to ensure customers are kept updated.
  • Import and export procedures.
  • Raising appropriate customs documentation.
  • You will need an understanding of excise duty, VAT and movement of dangerous goods (bulk and packed).
  • Monitor, manage, audit and report freight costs and freight forwarder performance.
  • Raise POs for freight in ERP system.

We are keen to hear from candidates with the following:

  • A strong working knowledge of national and international movement of freight by road,sea,rail & air.
  • Knowledge of dangerous goods movement (ADR / IMDG / IATA).
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Knowledge of international trade – customs and excise requirements, export sales, export documentation, letter of credit trading.
  • Skilled in working under pressure, able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
  • Experience of AX or SAP would be a bonus. An intermediate level of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook is also required.

This is a one year contract.

  • Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week which can be flexible!
