A leading health care institution in London seeks a locum urology consultant for a 1-year fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will care for complex reconstructive and functional urology patients and support neuro-urology services. Requirements include sub-specialty experience in FRA surgery, performing sacral neuromodulation surgery independently, and experience in neuro-urology. The position involves working in multidisciplinary teams and requires 10 programmed activities per week.
A 1-year fixed-term contract locum urology consultant split post between two administrative units of University College London Hospital (UCLH): the Functional, Restorative and Adolescent Urology service at Westmoreland Street, together with the Uro-neurology service at the National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery (NHNN).
The post holder will be responsible for the care of complex reconstructive and functional urology patients as well as supporting the department of Uroneurology care for patients with neurological disease. The consultant will work within the FRA Neuromodulation team, the FRA Reconstruction and Adolescent Team as well as the Uroneurology team at NHNN. The consultant’s job plan will comprise 10 programmed activities per week, including clinics, theatre sessions, MDTs, admin and SPA time. The role requires the consultant to undertake non‑emergency work during premium time.
Minimum one year sub‑specialty experience in FRA surgery with evidence of performing sacral neuromodulation surgery independently, having performed a minimum of 25 operations independently and to be able to programme SNM (with evidence of having attended SNM courses). Minimum 4 months neuro‑urology experience.
