Job summary

The NHS Trust is seeking a Locum SHO in General Medicine to support acute and general medical services. You will work across General Medicine under consultant supervision, contributing to high-quality patient care. Immediate start available for doctors with NHS experience.

This locum position requires GMC registration, ALS certification, and proven NHS experience, with strong teamwork and communication skills to liaise across a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid GMC registration with a licence to practise.
• Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification is essential.
• Must have previous NHS experience.
• Must have a valid Right to Work in the UK.
• Available to start ASAP.
• Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, Acute patient assessment and management.
• Recognition and escalation of deteriorating patients.
• Clinical decision-making and prioritisation.
• Effective communication and handover skills.
• Time management and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess, investigate, and manage patients admitted under General Medicine
• Participate in ward rounds, patient reviews, and discharge planning
• Manage acute and chronic medical conditions under consultant supervision
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Liaise with nursing staff, allied healthcare professionals, and senior clinicians
• Ensure compliance with NHS clinical governance and patient safety standards
