Locum Senior Legal Officer (Childcare) – Local Authority – South Wales – Fully Remote – £50 /hr via Umbrella – Full Time

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Locum Senior Legal Officer to join the Childcare team of a Local Authority in South Wales on a full-time, 3‑month initial basis.

The ideal candidate for this role would be a Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive; however the opportunity is available for non‑qualified (but thoroughly experienced) locums as well. For this opportunity, you will need experience handling a caseload of childcare matters with previous Local Authority experience being essential.

Responsibilities
  • Managing a varied caseload and preparing legal advice and guidance relevant to Childcare matters
  • Drafting documentation such as Letters of Instruction, court orders, and position statements to ensure case progression
  • Dealing with enquires for legal advice efficiently to make sure that necessary assistance is provided
  • Preparing cases and interviewing witnesses
  • Providing support to the internal team and undertaking additional duties where required.

A rate of up to £50 per hour via umbrella is offered for this position as well as the opportunity to work fully remote.
