Job summary

Medacs Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Locum Scrub Nurse with orthopaedics experience for shifts in Glasgow. The role focuses on maintaining a sterile operating environment, preparing and assembling equipment, and supporting patients and families throughout theatre procedures.

Pay is £270–£360 per day, with shifts from Saturday to Sunday at QEUH – Glasgow and weekly payments. Applicants must have UK right to work and current NMC/HCPC registration.

Qualifications

• Must be able to scrub for Hips & Knees.
• Current NMC/HCPC registration.
• Minimum 1 year post-graduate experience.
• At least 6 months recent UK experience within the last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain a sterile environment throughout the surgical procedure.
• Identify, prepare, check, and assemble equipment for the operating list.
• Prepare and organise the clinical area for elective, emergency, and trauma procedures.
• Maintain adequate stock levels of drugs, stores and implants; liaise with Theatre Manager and Procurement.
• Support patients and families, communicating clinical information effectively.
• Demonstrate and develop clinical assessment skills, prioritising care for patients undergoing surgical/anaesthetic procedures.
• Share knowledge to contribute to ongoing patient care in the operating theatres.
