Job summary

Southend University Hospital NHS Trust invites applications for a Locum Consultant in Plastic Surgery with a special interest in Hand Surgery. The post is based at the St Andrew’s Centre, Broomfield Hospital and satellite sites, with a focus on delivering a high-quality plastic and hand surgery service.

The successful candidate will provide expert clinical care in General Plastic Surgery and Burns, lead and participate in research, audits and teaching, and contribute to CME and service

Responsibilities

• Provide a specialist clinical service in General Plastic Surgery and Burns with special interest in Hand surgery.
• Lead clinically relevant research to improve patient outcomes, leveraging local and national university facilities, and the St. Andrew’s Centre.
• Engage in multidisciplinary teamwork and contribute to clinical audits and continuing medical education.
• Supervise, teach and develop junior medical staff within the Plastic Surgery Service.
• Participate in out-of-hours consultant cover and in hand surgery schedules as part of the service.
