Job summary

The 6‑month fixed‑term locum consultant post sits within the Paediatric Team at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust. The post-holder will join an established paediatric gastroenterology service, working closely with the consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team to provide a comprehensive clinical service to patients.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to manage paediatric GI conditions and provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient care.
• Experience delivering specialist clinics for complex gastroenterology presentations.
• Competence in planning and supervising GI investigations (e.g., pH studies, endoscopies).
• Engagement with MDTs and shared-care networks with tertiary centres.
• Commitment to professional development and GMC guidance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver dedicated specialist paediatric gastroenterology clinics weekly.
• Provide inpatient support and advise on complex cases.
• Diagnose and manage GI conditions including IBD, reflux, celiac disease, and allergies.
• Perform or supervise GI investigations (pH studies, endoscopy) as certified.
• Establish and participate in shared-care networks with tertiary centres.
