Job summary

Pulse Healthcare is seeking a Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry to join an NHS client in Basingstoke, Hampshire. This locum role starts immediately, runs on a short-term contract, and requires a 40-hour week with a competitive rate to be discussed on application.

You will provide expert psychiatric care for older adults, carry out comprehensive assessments, lead MDT meetings, supervise junior medical staff, and ensure compliance with the Mental Health Act and related legislation.

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration.
• Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician (AC) status.
• Extensive experience in Old Age Psychiatry.
• Proven experience in a consultant-level role.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert psychiatric care for older adults in a variety of clinical settings.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualised treatment plans.
• Lead multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to service development.
• Offer clinical supervision and support to junior medical staff.
• Ensure full compliance with the Mental Health Act (MHA) and other relevant legislation.
