Job summary

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Locum Consultant in Luminal Gastroenterology to join a large gastroenterology team. The post involves inpatient and outpatient care, endoscopy, and on-call duties with a structured 10-session per week schedule.

You will contribute to a busy service across QMC and City Hospital, with opportunities to develop subspecialist interests and teaching activities.

Qualifications

• Medical Degree
• GMC licence to practise
• Entry on GMC Specialist Register via CCT or CESR
• Eligible to work in the UK
• Experience teaching and supervising medical students and junior trainees
• Experience of audits and presenting findings
• Higher teaching or research qualification
• Completion of recognised subspecialty training in gastroenterology

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology services in clinics and endoscopy
• Endoscopy and related procedures
• Contribute to the acute gastroenterology on-call service (1:18)
• Weekday daytime cover at City Hospital (3 weeks per annum)
• Inpatient care of luminal gastroenterology patients at QMC (12 weeks a year in 2-week blocks)
• Job plans open to discussion and amendment to suit department needs
