Job summary

Venn Group is seeking an experienced Housing Disrepair Solicitor for a Midlands-based locum role, predominantly remote with some office attendance. The contract is initially 3 months, with flexible full-time or part-time arrangements and a rate of up to £65 per hour (Umbrella).

The ideal candidate will have strong housing litigation experience, particularly in disrepair matters, with Local Authority or public sector exposure.

• Qualified Solicitor with strong housing litigation experience.
• Previous Local Authority or wider Public Sector experience is highly desirable

Responsibilities

• Manage a high-volume caseload of housing disrepair claims.
• Provide legal advice and guidance to officers, senior stakeholders and client departments.
• Negotiate settlements and progress matters efficiently.
• Instruct Counsel where required.
• Draft pleadings, agreements and other legal documentation.
• Work closely with surveyors, contractors and internal teams to resolve disrepair matters.
• Advise on legal and procedural developments in housing law.
• Maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Locum Housing Disrepair Solicitor – Midlands – 3 months + – Predominantly Remote Working – Up to £65 per hour (Umbrella)

Venn group’s specialist legal team are currently recruiting for an experienced Housing Disrepair Solicitor to join a reputable local authority in the Midlands.

The successful candidate will join the team on an initial 3-month locum contract. The role offers predominantly remote working, with some office attendance desirable but not essential, and flexibility for both full-time and part-time arrangements.

Rate: Up to £65 per hour (Umbrella)

Ideal Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will be a Qualified Solicitor with strong housing litigation experience, with a focus on disrepair matters. Previous Local Authority or wider Public Sector experience is highly desirable
