A leading health foundation trust in Gateshead invites applications for a motivated medical practitioner to join our gastroenterology and hepatology team. This role involves providing specialized outpatient and inpatient services, participating in emergency endoscopy, and engaging in teaching and research activities. This new post will support existing services and improvements in Gastroenterology and hepatology in Gateshead.
The post holder will work with consultant colleagues to deliver gastroenterology and/or hepatology services, including ward commitment that will support existing gastroenterology inpatient ward cover and gastroenterology outpatient service delivery. The post may support an interest in advanced endoscopy, endoscopy training, nutrition, IBD or hepatology/HPB depending on the area of interest of the successful applicant. The post holder will be expected to participate in GIM and endoscopy on call rotas.
In addition, the role offers the opportunity to be involved in teaching and training, research and audit/quality improvement.
Based in the North East of England we provide a range of hospital and community health services from our leading facilities, including the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Blaydon urgent care centre and Bensham Hospital, all within Gateshead.
