Job summary

Sanctuary Personnel is seeking a Band 5 Endoscopy Staff Nurse for a 3-month locum block in Guernsey. The role offers £34.00 per hour and involves delivering endoscopy care within a dedicated team.

You will perform pre-assessment, assist procedures such as gastroscopy and colonoscopy, and monitor patient recovery. An NHS-style environment with ongoing CPD opportunities and flexible locum arrangements awaits.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Adult) with current NMC registration.
• Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
• Immediate Life Support (ILS) qualification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent nursing care for patients undergoing endoscopy services, ensuring safety and comfort.
• Perform pre-assessment activities, prepare patients, and monitor recovery post-procedure.
• Assist Endoscopists during gastroscopy, colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, and therapeutic interventions.
• Administer medications, sedation, and IV therapies per NMC standards and local protocols.
• Identify and manage patient deterioration and escalate when necessary.
