Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Locum Education Lawyer to work in London on a locum basis for an initial 3-month term. The ideal candidate will have a valid practising certificate and specialisation in education law, particularly SEND. This role offers up to £50 per hour and requires attendance at the office once a week.

Qualifications

• A valid practising certificate in England as a Solicitor or Barrister.
• Specialism within Education, specifically SEND and evidence of practising post-qualification.
• Experience working within local authorities or for a public sector organisation.

Responsibilities

• Possess an expert knowledge and understanding of law and legislation relating to education.
• Attend tribunals and hearings on behalf of the Borough.
• Train and mentor junior lawyers/paralegals.

Venn Group is working with a brilliant local authority in the South East in their search for an Education Lawyer on a locum basis for an initial 3 month period.

Up to £50 per hour umbrella

London Borough

3 months initially, with a very high likelihood of extension

36 hours per week, 1 day per week office attendance

Requirements

• A valid practising certificate in England as a Solicitor or Barrister
• Specialism within Education, specifically SEND and evidence of practising this post-qualification
• Experience working within local authorities, or for a public sector organisation

Duties/Responsibilities

• Possess an expert knowledge and understanding of law and legislation relating to education
• Attend tribunals and hearings on behalf of the Borough as appropriate
• Train and mentor junior lawyers / paralegals as appropriate
