A specialist recruitment agency is seeking a Locum Data Protection & Information Governance Manager for a Midlands-based Local Authority. This remote position offers a rate of up to £450 per day for a 6-month assignment. In addition to providing expert advice, the role requires management of information requests and developing policies. Strong knowledge of relevant legislation is essential.

Qualifications

• Experienced in Data Protection and Information Governance within a public sector environment.
• Strong working knowledge of relevant legislation including the UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018 and Freedom of Information Act 2000.
• Proven ability to manage sensitive and complex information governance matters.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice and guidance on data protection, freedom of information and information governance matters.
• Lead on compliance with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 across the authority.
• Manage responses to information requests, data breaches and subject access requests.
• Review and develop information governance policies and procedures.
• Support and advise services on privacy impact assessments and information sharing agreements.

Locum Data Protection & Information Governance Manager – Midlands Council – Up to £450 per day (Umbrella) – initial 6 Months+ – Remote Working

Venn Group’s specialist legal team are currently recruiting for a Locum Data Protection & Information Governance Manager to join a Midlands-based Local Authority on an initial 6-month assignment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced information governance professional to take a lead role within a well‑structured and supportive team.

Role Details:

• Position: Locum Data Protection & Information Governance Manager
• Duration: Initial 6 months with potential extension thereafter
• Rate: Up to £450 per day (Umbrella), dependent on experience
• Working Pattern: Primarily remote, with an initial on‑site visit required to collect IT equipment

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert advice and guidance on data protection, freedom of information and information governance matters
• Lead on compliance with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 across the authority
• Manage responses to information requests, data breaches and subject access requests
• Review and develop information governance policies and procedures
• Support and advise services on privacy impact assessments and information sharing agreements

Ideal Candidate:

• Experienced in Data Protection and Information Governance within a public sector environment
