A leading healthcare provider in Swindon is looking for a locum Consultant Urologist for a 12-month fixed term. The role involves providing outpatient clinics, supporting new care pathways, and participating in on-call duties. Candidates should be proficient in core urology and have experience with a full range of urological conditions. Registration with the GMC and relevant qualifications are essential.
We are looking to appoint a locum Consultant Urologist fixed term for 12 months. The post will be based at the Great Western Hospital.
The successful candidate will be expected to be proficient in core urology but may wish to have a speciality interest. An ability to undertake LATP biopsy would be beneficial.
The Post holder will be expected to provide elective services such as outpatient clinics both at Great Western and at some peripheral community hospitals, and elective inpatient and day-case operations. The successful candidate will also support the hospital’s new care pathways and participate in a 1:6 on call rota.
The successful applicant will join a team of 5.4 WTE with five established consultant urological surgeons; two consultants are full time in Swindon, one consultant has a joint post between Swindon and Bristol (split 50:50), and two of the consultants are now working part-time. The team have also recently appointed another 1 WTE Locum Consultant post on a 12 month fixed term basis. The team are further supported by one Associate Specialist and 6 Clinical Fellow/Registrar level doctors.
He urologists are supported by an excellent anaesthetic and radiology department, the latter including interventional radiology and weekly uro-radiology x ray meetings. There is a weekly MDT.
