Job summary

Qualifications

• Eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register.
• With or eligible for Approved Clinician status (MHA, 2007).
• Previous experience of working on an general adult inpatient ward.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultant clinical leadership to the service.
• Assume Responsible Clinician status for detained patients.
• Participate in the assessment of patients referred to the service.

Skills

Experience of clinical work in General Adult Psychiatry at ST4-6 or Consultant level

Experience and knowledge of psychopharmacology

Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team

Commitment to clinical governance

Expertise in risk formulation and evidence-based interventions

Education

Medical degree, MBBS or equivalent

Fully registered with the General Medical Council

Membership of the Royal College Of Psychiatrists or equivalent

Higher Degree in relevant area
