Basic Salary

£107,144 - £142,369 per annum + on‑call supplement (3% of full time salary)

Modern and well‑equipped 284 bed DGH serving the rural Borders area in South East Scotland, approximately 36 miles from Edinburgh.

The Role

We are seeking a consultant physician / geriatrician to join our team of consultant physicians.

Department of Medicine for the Elderly (DME)

The DME has a team of consultants covering both general and specialist areas in care of the elderly medicine. The successful applicant will be responsible, along with their colleagues, for the general care of patients in the Department of Medicine for the Elderly and, through close liaison with GPs and the primary health care team, the integrated management of elderly patients. They will also be expected to act as leads in the development and support of identified specialist services, according to their particular interests and the needs of the service. They will be expected to assist the moves towards integrated care for the Scottish Borders.

Qualifications

All candidates must possess full GMC Registration and will already be on the Specialist Register for both Geriatric Medicine and General Internal Medicine, or within six months of receiving their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent at the time of the interview.
