A leading healthcare provider in the UK is looking for a Consultant Ophthalmologist to provide glaucoma clinics and support the training of junior staff. The role involves managing patient care in a busy clinical setting, contributing to on-call duties, and ensuring high-quality service delivery. Applicants must be qualified consultants with strong glaucoma management expertise and the ability to work flexibly within a prominent NHS partnership.
The successful candidate will assume a direct clinical role within the department, sharing all facilities equally with the existing consultants. This is a substantive post and the appointee will be joining 32 Consultant Ophthalmologist posts already established. The successful candidate will work 11 PAs per week, which will include an 8.5 DCC and 1.5 SPA split (Flexible working may be considered) in addition to 1 PA for on-call work. It is expected that the successful applicant will play an active role in the consultant on call rota.
