Role: Locum Consultant in Accident and Emergency

Rates: £100 - £120 per hour

Shifts: Full time + On Calls

Details: Out of hours senior registrar shifts for both obstetrics and gynaecology – they will need to have evidence of having independent LW practice including complex caesarean sections, rotational instrumental deliveries, management of postpartum haemorrhage, third‑degree tear perineal repair and be happy to supervise junior staff. Elective caesarean section lists which may include sterilisation, antenatal clinics, gynaecology outpatient clinics.

About the Role

As a locum Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, you'll provide expert care and contribute to the delivery of high‑quality services.

What We're Looking For

Essential

• Be a GMC Specialist registered Doctor with full licence to practice
• Must have evidence of Right to Work in the UK (unfortunately locum jobs can't offer visa sponsorship or accept any applications from candidates with visa requirements)
• Ideally, Completion of higher training (CCT or within 6 months of obtaining)
• Have relevant experience at consultant level, or references to support your transition up to Consultant level
• Applicants without CCT registration must be able to demonstrate lots of prior experience working at consultant grade
• You will need to pass an enhanced background check (DBS)
• Willing to work as PAYE only and not Ltd as this is locum work for NHS hospitals and not private or insourcing work

Desirable

• CCT in Obstetrics & Gynaecology (or within 6 months of achieving it)
