A regional healthcare provider is seeking a Locum Consultant Interventional Radiologist for a 12-month fixed term position. Job Summary

This post is for a Locum Consultant Interventional Radiologist. This is a 12 month fixed term whole‑time (10 PA) post offering an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Medic to join a dynamic, rapidly expanding team delivering multidisciplinary acute care in Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals.

Applicants are required to hold Membership of the Royal College of Radiology (UK or equivalent qualifications) and to be fully registered with the General Medical Council.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain expanding workload, support MDT meetings, meet waiting list targets, and enable the introduction of extended working.
  • Contribute to the general workload; participate in diagnostic general on‑call rota and interventional radiology on‑call (Liverpool University Hospitals).
  • Observe all Trust policies and procedures, actively participate in annual performance review, attend statutory and mandatory training.
  • Fully comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act and Trust policies; maintain confidentiality as per GDPR and Caldicott principles.
  • Support existing radiologists, supervise junior staff, engage in audit and research.
Qualifications
  • Full GMC registration at the time of appointment.
  • MB ChB or equivalent medical qualification.
  • FRCR or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Specialist sub‑interest in interventional radiology (suggested gastrointestinal radiology).
Desirable
  • MD/PhD or equivalent.
  • Emergency imaging and on‑call experience.
  • Understanding of appraisal and assessment of radiology trainees.
