The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering elective diagnostic services at the CDC, alongside providing non-elective (emergency) care at The Royal London Hospital and operative surgery across RLH and Whipps Cross Hospital. Additionally, the postholder will contribute to the stone and ESWL service at RLH, with the opportunity to develop a subspecialist interest in upper urinary tract robotic surgery and renal cancer diagnostics.

The CDC Service runs 8am – 8pm across 7 days, therefore your schedule will be based on these hours and days to support the effective running of the service.

Responsibilities
  • Provide general urological services, including ESWL and endo-urology.
  • Develop efficient urology pathways and enhance UIU capabilities and capacity.
  • Establish a subspecialist interest in upper urinary tract robotic surgery.
  • Lead and support a multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in non-elective (emergency) care at The Royal London Hospital on a 1-in-8 rota.
  • Perform operative surgery at The Royal London, Whipps Cross, and Newham hospitals.
  • Engage in regular audits, continuous professional development, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee the education and training of clinical staff; academic interests are encouraged and can be discussed with Professor Prabhakar Rajan.
  • For discussions regarding the clinical post, contact Mr. Prasad Patki, Clinical Lead at RLH, or Mr. James Green, Lead for the Barts Health Urological Operational Delivery Network and the NEL Urology Network.
