Locum Consultant in Restorative Dentistry (4PAs)

Applications are invited for a Locum Consultant in Restorative Dentistry (4PAs) for a period of 12 months.

The successful candidate will work closely with medical and dental consultant colleagues, mainly supporting the restorative needs of head and neck cancer patients, including pre‑radiotherapy assessments and hypodontia.

Main duties of the job

The service offers a multidisciplinary‑team‑based approach in head and neck oncology and cleft lip and palate and the department also works closely with consultants in the Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Plastic Surgery, Neurosurgery and Cancer services.

The combined department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Orthodontics is supported by a full‑time maxillofacial technician, who has special expertise in maxillofacial prostheses.

You will be fully registered with the GDC and ideally have a CCST in Restorative Dentistry or be within six months of award of CCST at the time of interview and/or you will have a Primary dental qualification with the General Dental Council (GDC). You will also be eligible for entry on the Specialist Register or within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) at time of interview.
