A leading healthcare provider in Wolverhampton is seeking a Consultant Haematologist to manage patients independently. The Department has an active interest in clinical research and we currently have commercial and academic trials in the fields of Lymphoma, Myeloma and Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
Professor Basu leads the West Midlands Research Consortium (WMRC).
We have a 22 bedded inpatient facility providing care for patients undergoing induction treatment for Acute Leukemia and salvage treatment for Lymphoma.
The responsibility will be to work as a Consultant Haematologist and manage patients independently. The role consists of working in a team of consultants and junior doctors managing Haematological conditions. You will be expected to manage both inpatients and outpatients. The role will include diagnostic Haematology with blood film and bone marrow reporting. You will be expected to participate in a 1:8 on call rota covering weekdays and weekends. The role includes consultative Haematology giving advice to different healthcare professionals. The role will involve working across 3 sites including New Cross hospital, Cannock Chase hospital and Walsall. The Trust actively welcome applicants who have an interest in malignant, thrombosis and haemostasis and haemoglobinopathies.
