A healthcare provider in Crewe is seeking a Locum Consultant in Emergency Medicine. The role includes leading the Emergency Department and ensuring high-quality patient care. Candidates must have full GMC registration and be on the Specialist Register or nearing their CCT. This is a 12-month fixed term position with significant responsibilities in management and clinical decision-making.
Applications are invited for a Locum Consultant in Emergency Medicine based Mid Cheshire Hospital in Crewe. This is a 12 month fixed term opportunity between January 2026 - January 2027.
The Emergency Department (ED) is a busy department and accredited trauma unit providing acute emergency services for Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, with a catchment population of around 300,000. It is a pro‑active and progressive department with a young, dynamic Consultant team which has a range of interests including paediatric emergency medicine and education. With the support of our Head of Nursing, Senior Service Manager and Matron, we are continually developing our emergency service by improving flow initiatives, evidence‑based pathways and embracing new skills and clinical expertise, including stroke thrombolysis and paediatric procedural sedation.
The successful applicant must have full registration with the GMC and continue to hold a Licence to Practise. The applicant must also be on the Specialist Register or be within six months of obtaining their Certificate of Completion of Training.
Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides a full range of hospital and community services for people across East Cheshire (population 399 K) and West Cheshire and Chester (population 357 K). The Trust provides high quality planned and emergency care, cardiac, critical care, child health, maternity services and intermediate care at Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford.
The Trust provides over 500 beds and employs over 5,100 members of staff. A comprehensive range of community services is provided across 26 medical centres and schools through our Central Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership.

The salary threshold for sponsorship is £25,000 for Health and Care Visas and £41,700 (with limited exceptions) for Skilled Worker visas. The Trust will not sponsor where the starting salary does not meet these immigration rules.
