An NHS Trust in Hull is seeking locum consultants for anaesthesia roles, particularly valuing candidates with paediatric experience. Responsibilities include providing anaesthetic services, supervising trainees, and being on-call. Ideal candidates should have extensive training and experience in anaesthesia techniques. This is a full-time fixed-term position with a salary ranging from £109,725 to £145,478 per year.
We are looking to recruit 10 locum consultants for roles with various subspecialty interest. Special consideration will be given to candidates who have Paediatric (inc. Neonates) experience.
A total of 79 Consultants including 6 Locum Consultants currently work in Theatres, Anaesthetics and Critical Care. The department also currently employs 1 Associate Specialist, 2 Specialist Grade Anaesthetists, 1 Specialty Doctor and about 30 trainees based in Anaesthesia ranging from CT1-ST7. 8 Senior Clinical Fellows are employed in the anaesthetic department. There are also trainees from acute medicine, respiratory medicine and emergency medicine who rotate through training in Intensive care and we train both FY1 and FY2 Doctors from our Local Foundation School.
There are 11 Anaesthesia Associates working in the department.
Secretarial and administrative support to the Department is provided by 5 secretaries in anaesthesia and two based in critical care.
A standard full time Job Plan will contain 10 programmed activities (PAs) comprising 8 PAs for direct clinical care (DCC), 1 PA for General Consultant on call at HRI. 1 SPA are classed as 'core' and cover time for training, teaching, CPD, audit, appraisal, clinical governance and attendance at service meetings.
