Job summary

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Locum Consultant Rhinologist for a 12-month fixed-term post. The role oversees and develops the Rhinology service while contributing to a broader ENT workload.

You will lead service transformation, shape pathways across hospital and community settings, and contribute to education, training, and clinical leadership within a supportive, forward‑looking department.

Qualifications

• MBBS and GMC registration with specialist status.
• Higher training in Otorhinolaryngology (CCT or CESR/equivalent).
• Evidence of teaching, audit, and governance experience.
• Advanced subspecialty fellowship in Rhinology is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a comprehensive ENT service including Rhinology and general ENT care.

• MBBS
• Full Registration with the General Medical Council.

• Entry on the GMC specialist register via relevant CCT relevant CESR or European Community Rights

Experience & Knowledge

• High level of clinical experience and competence in Otorhinolaryngology
• Completed Higher Specialist Training (CCT) in Otorhinolaryngology or evidence of equivalent competency.
• A special interest to complement that of the existing post holders
• A commitment to, and experience of teaching
• Excellent communication skills with patients, colleagues, managers and other staff
• Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients
• An interest in developing links with Primary Care
• Experience of working in a District General hospital
