Job summary

Locum Ready in Merthyr Tydfil is seeking a Locum Advanced Nurse Practitioner to provide autonomous, high‑quality primary care within a well‑organised GP setting. You will assess, diagnose and manage a broad range of presentations, with support from an established multidisciplinary team.

You will deliver evidence‑based care, contribute to outcomes, and have flexible sessional work with morning and afternoon clinics and potential long‑term block bookings.

Qualifications

• Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification (Level 7 or postgraduate).
• V300 Independent Prescribing registration.
• Recent experience in primary or urgent care settings.
• Ability to work autonomously and safely.
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision.
• Enhanced DBS disclosure.

Responsibilities

• Run minor illness and acute assessment clinics.
• Conduct long-term condition reviews where needed.
• Telephone triage and clinical decision-making.
• Independent prescribing and medication reviews.
• Order and interpret investigations.
• Maintain clear, accurate clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with GPs, Practice Nurses and HCAs.

Locum Ready is looking for a Locum Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to work for a GP practice in Merthyr Tydfil. This role is ideal for an autonomous clinician seeking flexible sessional work within a well-organised primary care environment, with full support from an established multidisciplinary team.

You will independently assess, diagnose and manage a range of presentations, deliver evidence-based care, and contribute to high-quality clinical outcomes. The practice offers a structured workflow, clear expectations and a supportive clinical setup to make each session efficient and manageable.

Key Responsibilities

• Running minor illness and acute assessment clinics
• Completing long-term condition reviews where required
• Telephone triage and clinical decision-making
• Independent prescribing and medication reviews
• Ordering and interpreting investigations
• Clear, accurate clinical documentation
• Working collaboratively with GPs, Practice Nurses and HCAs

Requirements

• Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification (Level 7/Postgraduate)
