Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Advanced Nurse Practitioner to work in a GP practice in Exeter. This role offers autonomous clinical work with full support from a multidisciplinary team and flexible sessional arrangements.

You will assess, diagnose and manage a range of presentations, deliver evidence-based care, and contribute to high-quality outcomes within a well-organised primary care environment.

Qualifications

• Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification (Level 7/Postgraduate) is required.
• V300 Independent Prescribing must be held.
• Recent experience in primary care, urgent care or walk-in settings.
• Ability to work autonomously and safely.
• Familiarity with common primary care systems (EMIS / SystmOne / Vision).
• Enhanced DBS is required.

Responsibilities

• Running minor illness and acute assessment clinics.
• Completing long‑term condition reviews where required.
• Telephone triage and clinical decision-making.
• Independent prescribing and medication reviews.
• Ordering and interpreting investigations.
• Clear, accurate clinical documentation.
• Working collaboratively with GPs, Practice Nurses and HCAs.
