Pulse is seeking a Band 6 Locum Anatomical Pathology Technologist to join the mortuary service in the Northwest of England. This full‑time, ongoing position offers a 37.5-hour week, with a competitive hourly rate and a supportive team environment.

The role requires HTA compliance knowledge, NHS mortuary experience, and strong organisational skills. Start date in May, with a focus on accurate documentation and respectful care of the deceased.

Qualifications

• Diploma Level 3 in Anatomical Pathology Technology (or equivalent).
• HTA compliance knowledge.
• Experience working within an NHS or public sector mortuary.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work sensitively and professionally in a mortuary environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of a high-quality mortuary service, including assisting with post‑mortem examinations.
• Ensure accurate documentation and maintain mortuary equipment.
• Adhere to HTA standards and work with pathologists, coroners’ officers, and wider clinical teams to ensure safe and respectful care of the deceased.
