Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to work in a GP practice in Wigston. The role suits an experienced ACP from nursing, paramedic, or allied health backgrounds who can deliver autonomous clinical assessments, safe decision-making and efficient patient management.

Qualifications

• Advanced Clinical Practitioner qualification (Level 7 or equivalent).
• Independent Prescribing qualification preferred (V300 or equivalent).
• Recent primary care, urgent care or UTC experience required.
• Background in nursing, paramedic science or allied health is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct acute and same-day access clinics
• Autonomous assessment, diagnosis and management of undifferentiated presentations
• Telephone triage and clinical streaming
• Ordering and interpreting investigations

Locum Ready is looking for a Locum Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to work for a GP practice in Wigston. This role is ideal for an experienced ACP from a nursing, paramedic, or allied health background who can deliver autonomous clinical assessments, safe decision-making and efficient patient management within a structured primary care environment.

You will join an established multidisciplinary team and run your own clinics, supporting both urgent and routine patient demand. The practice offers clear pathways, strong administrative support and a smooth workflow to ensure effective session delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting acute and same-day access clinics
• Autonomous assessment, diagnosis and management of undifferentiated presentations
• Telephone triage and clinical streaming
• Ordering and interpreting investigations
• Prescribing safely within scope (where qualified)
• Managing follow-up actions, results and referral workflows
• Documenting clearly using the practice clinical system

Requirements

• Advanced Clinical Practitioner qualification (Level 7/Postgraduate)
• Background may be Nursing, Paramedic Science, Physiotherapy or similar
• Independent Prescribing qualification (V300 or equivalent) preferred
• Recent experience in primary care, urgent care or UTC settings
• Confident autonomous clinician with strong decision-making skills
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision
• Enhanced DBS

Working Pattern

• Flexible sessions up to 4 days per week
• Morning and afternoon clinics available
• Long‐term and ongoing sessions offered
