Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to work in a GP practice in Whitby. The role suits an experienced ACP from nursing, paramedic, or allied health backgrounds, capable of autonomous clinical assessments, safe decision-making and efficient patient management.

You will join a multidisciplinary team, run your own clinics and support urgent and routine patient demand. Clear pathways, strong admin support and a smooth workflow help deliver effective sessions.

Qualifications

  • Advanced Clinical Practitioner qualification (Level 7/Postgraduate).
  • Background may be Nursing, Paramedic Science, Physiotherapy or similar.
  • Independent Prescribing qualification (V300 or equivalent) preferred.
  • Recent experience in primary care, urgent care or UTC settings.
  • Confident autonomous clinician with strong decision-making skills.
  • Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision.
  • Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting acute and same-day access clinics.
  • Autonomous assessment, diagnosis and management of undifferentiated presentations.
  • Telephone triage and clinical streaming.
  • Ordering and interpreting investigations.
  • Prescribing safely within scope (where qualified).
  • Managing follow-up actions, results and referral workflows.
  • Documenting clearly using the practice clinical system.
