Locum Ready is seeking an experienced Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join a GP practice in Stockton-on-Tees. You will deliver autonomous clinical assessments, safe decision-making and efficient patient management within a structured primary care environment.

You will run your own clinics, support both urgent and routine demand, and benefit from clear pathways, strong admin support and a smooth workflow for effective session delivery. Flexible sessions up to 4 days weekly.

Qualifications

  • Advanced Clinical Practitioner qualification (Level 7) is required or essential.
  • Independent Prescribing qualification (V300) preferred.
  • Recent experience in primary or urgent care settings is expected.
  • Background from nursing, paramedic science or allied health is suitable.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting acute and same-day access clinics.
  • Autonomous assessment, diagnosis and management of undifferentiated presentations.
  • Telephone triage and clinical streaming.
  • Ordering and interpreting investigations.
  • Prescribing safely within scope (where qualified).
  • Managing follow-up actions, results and referral workflows.
  • Documenting clearly using the practice clinical system.

Job description

Locum Ready is looking for a Locum Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to work for a GP practice in Stockton On Tees. This role is ideal for an experienced ACP from a nursing, paramedic, or allied health background who can deliver autonomous clinical assessments, safe decision-making and efficient patient management within a structured primary care environment.

You will join an established multidisciplinary team and run your own clinics, supporting both urgent and routine patient demand. The practice offers clear pathways, strong administrative support and a smooth workflow to ensure effective session delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting acute and same-day access clinics
  • Autonomous assessment, diagnosis and management of undifferentiated presentations
  • Telephone triage and clinical streaming
  • Ordering and interpreting investigations
  • Prescribing safely within scope (where qualified)
  • Managing follow-up actions, results and referral workflows
  • Documenting clearly using the practice clinical system
Requirements
  • Advanced Clinical Practitioner qualification (Level 7/Postgraduate)
  • Background may be Nursing, Paramedic Science, Physiotherapy or similar
  • Independent Prescribing qualification (V300 or equivalent) preferred
  • Recent experience in primary care, urgent care or UTC settings
  • Confident autonomous clinician with strong decision-making skills
  • Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision
  • Enhanced DBS
