Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to join a GP practice in St Albans. The role suits an experienced ACP from nursing, paramedic, or allied health background who can deliver autonomous clinical assessments and safe decision-making within a structured primary care setting.

You will run your own clinics within an established multidisciplinary team, supported by clear pathways and strong admin workflow to ensure efficient session delivery.

Qualifications

• Advanced Clinical Practitioner qualification (Level 7/Postgraduate)
• Independent Prescribing qualification preferred
• Recent experience in primary care, urgent care or UTC settings
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision
• Enhanced DBS

Responsibilities

• Conducting acute and same-day access clinics
• Autonomous assessment, diagnosis and management of undifferentiated presentations
• Telephone triage and clinical streaming
• Ordering and interpreting investigations
• Prescribing safely within scope (where qualified)
• Managing follow-up actions, results and referral workflows
• Documenting clearly using the practice clinical system

You will join an established multidisciplinary team and run your own clinics, supporting both urgent and routine patient demand. The practice offers clear pathways, strong administrative support and a smooth workflow to ensure effective session delivery.

• Autonomous assessment, diagnosis and management of undifferentiated presentations

• Prescribing safely within scope (where qualified)

Requirements

• Advanced Clinical Practitioner qualification (Level 7/Postgraduate)
• Background may be Nursing, Paramedic Science, Physiotherapy or similar
• Independent Prescribing qualification (V300 or equivalent) preferred
• Recent experience in primary care, urgent care or UTC settings
• Confident autonomous clinician with strong decision-making skills
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision
• Enhanced DBS

Working Pattern

• Flexible sessions up to 4 days per week
• Morning and afternoon clinics available
• Long-term and ongoing sessions offered
