Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking an Advanced Clinical Practitioner to support a GP practice in Hexham. The ACP will work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team, delivering clinics and managing urgent and routine patient demand.

The role offers flexible sessions up to 4 days per week, with morning and afternoon clinics and the possibility of long-term ongoing engagements. The position requires postgraduate ACP qualifications and a current prescribing entitlement where possible.

Qualifications

• Advanced Clinical Practitioner qualification (Level 7/Postgraduate).
• Experience in primary care, urgent care or UTC settings.
• Independent Prescribing qualification preferred.
• Background in Nursing, Paramedic Science, Physiotherapy or similar.
• Recent experience in primary care is required.
• Enhanced DBS

Responsibilities

• Conduct acute and same-day access clinics.
• Autonomous assessment, diagnosis and management of undifferentiated presentations.
• Telephone triage and clinical streaming.
• Ordering and interpreting investigations.
• Prescribing safely within scope (where qualified).
• Managing follow-up actions, results and referral workflows.
• Documenting clearly using the practice clinical system.

Locum Ready is looking for a Locum Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to work for a GP practice in Hexham. This role is ideal for an experienced ACP from a nursing, paramedic, or allied health background who can deliver autonomous clinical assessments, safe decision-making and efficient patient management within a structured primary care environment.

You will join an established multidisciplinary team and run your own clinics, supporting both urgent and routine patient demand. The practice offers clear pathways, strong administrative support and a smooth workflow to ensure effective session delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting acute and same-day access clinics
• Autonomous assessment, diagnosis and management of undifferentiated presentations

• Prescribing safely within scope (where qualified)

Requirements

• Advanced Clinical Practitioner qualification (Level 7/Postgraduate)
• Background may be Nursing, Paramedic Science, Physiotherapy or similar
• Independent Prescribing qualification (V300 or equivalent) preferred
• Recent experience in primary care, urgent care or UTC settings
• Confident autonomous clinician with strong decision-making skills
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision
• Enhanced DBS
