Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to work at a GP practice in Blackburn. The role suits an experienced ACP from nursing, paramedic, or allied health backgrounds who can deliver autonomous clinical assessments and safe decision-making within a structured primary care setting.

You will run your own clinics within a multidisciplinary team, handling urgent and routine demand with clear pathways and strong admin support to ensure smooth session delivery.

Qualifications

• Advanced Clinical Practitioner qualification (Level 7/Postgraduate).
• Independent Prescribing qualification (V300 or equivalent) preferred.
• Recent experience in primary care, urgent care or UTC settings.
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Conducting acute and same-day access clinics
• Autonomous assessment, diagnosis and management of undifferentiated presentations
• Telephone triage and clinical streaming
• Ordering and interpreting investigations
• Prescribing safely within scope (where qualified)
• Managing follow-up actions, results and referral workflows
• Documenting clearly using the practice clinical system

You will join an established multidisciplinary team and run your own clinics, supporting both urgent and routine patient demand. The practice offers clear pathways, strong administrative support and a smooth workflow to ensure effective session delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting acute and same-day access clinics
• Autonomous assessment, diagnosis and management of undifferentiated presentations
• Telephone triage and clinical streaming

Requirements

• Advanced Clinical Practitioner qualification (Level 7/Postgraduate)
• Background may be Nursing, Paramedic Science, Physiotherapy or similar
• Independent Prescribing qualification (V300 or equivalent) preferred

Working Pattern

• Flexible sessions up to 4 days per week
• Morning and afternoon clinics available
