Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking an experienced Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join a GP practice in Abertillery. The post requires autonomous clinical assessments, safe decision-making and efficient patient management within a structured primary care environment.

You will run your own clinics within an established multidisciplinary team, supporting urgent and routine patient demand with flexible sessions up to 4 days per week and morning or afternoon slots. Independent prescribing is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Advanced Clinical Practitioner with Level 7 or postgraduate qualification.
  • Independent Prescribing (V300) preferred.
  • Recent experience in primary or urgent care settings.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting acute and same-day access clinics
  • Autonomous assessment, diagnosis and management of undifferentiated presentations
  • Telephone triage and clinical streaming
  • Ordering and interpreting investigations
  • Prescribing safely within scope (where qualified)
  • Managing follow-up actions, results and referral workflows
  • Documenting clearly using the practice clinical system

Job description

Locum Ready is looking for a Locum Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to work for a GP practice in Abertillery. This role is ideal for an experienced ACP from a nursing, paramedic, or allied health background who can deliver autonomous clinical assessments, safe decision-making and efficient patient management within a structured primary care environment.

You will join an established multidisciplinary team and run your own clinics, supporting both urgent and routine patient demand. The practice offers clear pathways, strong administrative support and a smooth workflow to ensure effective session delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting acute and same-day access clinics
  • Autonomous assessment, diagnosis and management of undifferentiated presentations
  • Telephone triage and clinical streaming
  • Ordering and interpreting investigations
  • Prescribing safely within scope (where qualified)

Requirements

  • Advanced Clinical Practitioner qualification (Level 7/Postgraduate)
  • Background may be Nursing, Paramedic Science, Physiotherapy or similar
  • Independent Prescribing qualification (V300 or equivalent) preferred
  • Recent experience in primary care, urgent care or UTC settings
  • Confident autonomous clinician with strong decision-making skills
  • Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision
  • Enhanced DBS
