The Property function at ASDA is responsible for delivering a wide range of initiatives to support the existing performance and future growth of the business. The Location Planning team sits within this function and are responsible for driving ASDA's market strategy, ensuring we have the right portfolio of stores & formats, in the right markets, for now, and the future.
This role directs & manages the activity of the team, ensuring all strategic recommendations are market-led, focusing Property activity and prioritising cap-ex to drive future profitability.
Market Analysis
Conduct detailed market assessments to identify opportunities for New Space growth across the UK. Provide Network Plan recommendationS based on demographic, competitor, and economic trends.
Store Analysis
Evaluate existing store performance to recommend Estate Optimisation strategies.
Sales Forecasting
Develop and maintain forecasting models for all property-related activities. Support decision-making for new openings, refurbishments, and closures.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with teams across Property, Finance, and Commercial to ensure strategic alignment and evolution.
Data, Systems & Tools Development
Enhance analytical capabilities by improving data quality, systems, and planning tools.
Competitor Monitoring
Track competitor activity and assess its impact on sales forecasting and network strategy.
To ensure we balance moments where we know we need to collaborate together and the need for flexibility, Asda has a hybrid way of working with a minimum 3 days a week in one of our Home Offices. Over and above this, each area of Asda may have additional requirements which may require spending more days in the office, visiting suppliers, stores or depots.
