Location Manager – Rented Housing – Jackson Cole House, Oxford

Hours: 25 hours per week

Salary: Up to £29,000 per annum pro rata

About the role

Working with different individuals every day, a Location Manager’s job is incredibly varied, and no two days are the same. We connect with our communities in different ways and when you join the housing team, you’ll need a good balance of heart and head to manage property matters, tenancy matters and relationships with your residents.

The Location Manager role is very diverse, and involves working with departments across the organisation, so you will need to feel confident taking the lead on managing relationships with key stakeholders and partners.

You will be responsible for
  • Managing properties and supporting residents to be able to live independent lives
  • Letting properties, managing rent accounts, dealing with anti‑social behaviour and ensuring repairs are carried out
  • Listening to residents and dealing with issues before they become a complaint
  • Taking ownership of complaints, investigating fully and keeping residents informed
  • Maintaining resident trust and confidence through effective communication, setting expectations and delivery
  • Managing the location’s budget and service charge accounts ensuring homes are well maintained and repairs are completed to a high standard
  • Ensuring the location is safe, carry out health and safety checks and risk assessments in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Supporting residents to live independently by working with external agencies such as local authorities, care providers, social workers and medical professionals to provide access to the right services
  • Connecting with residents, encouraging inclusion in social events both internally and in the wider community
Qualifications and experience
  • Previous housing or care experience is desirable but not essential
  • Experience working with vulnerable client groups advantageous
  • Strong relationship management and communication skills
  • Resilience, problem‑solving ability and willingness to learn
  • Good organisational and stakeholder management skills
