Job summary

Aatom Recruitment is seeking a Team Leader Local Plans on behalf of a Local Authority in the UK. The role oversees the preparation, implementation and review of the local development framework, guiding staff and coordinating policy delivery.

The position is a 6-month contract, 37 hours per week, with a hybrid pattern: 1 day in the office and 4 days at home, with occasional evening meetings. Relevant experience in planning policy is essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preparation, implementation and review of the local development framework.
• Manage staff within Local Plans team and provide supervision for complex planning policy issues.
• Provide advice on planning applications, pre-application enquiries and project management.
• Coordinate responses to policy guidance, consultation documents and circulars.
• Prepare and present reports for committees and boards on local development matters.
• Prepare evidence for public inquiries, examinations and hearings as required.
• Handle general enquiries on plans and policies by various channels.
• Liaise with other divisions, councils and external bodies on development framework matters.
