Job summary

Workchain is seeking an HGV Class 2 Driver for a local distribution operation in Northampton. The role involves delivering materials, vehicle checks and paperwork, with a professional on-road presence.

You will join a team delivering ready-mixed concrete and related services across the region on a temporary basis. The position pays £16.00 to £16.50 per hour and runs during day shifts with weekly pay.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 licence.
• Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
• Valid digital tachograph card.
• Previous Class 2 driving experience preferred.
• Good knowledge of road safety and vehicle checks.
• Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious approach.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage delivery schedules.

Responsibilities

• Driving an HGV Class 2 vehicle in line with road and site safety requirements.
• Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting defects.
• Delivering materials to scheduled locations.
• Following delivery instructions and customer-site procedures.
• Completing relevant paperwork and maintaining accurate records.
• Representing the business professionally while working on the road.
